8. Mean to his fans? I worked with the guy at a con last year, and watched his "fans" steal almost every single cd he'd brought there to sell, and almost none of them gave them back. I watched his "fans" never once make mention that at the con he actually apologized for the whole CLAMP wank started during a panel that basically consisted of him, me and a couple other workers, and an entire roomful of crazy-ass Rangers. His "fans" scare and piss the shit outta me more than he ever will.

It also helps that he saved my friend from breaking her neck at that con, too, mind you. But seriously, in person? The guy's rather nice. His fans, on the other hand, are all batshit insane. At least most of them.

54. I agree so much. It doesn't hurt that he's friggin' hilarious.

55. Eyeshield 21 is the one thing that got me interested in football. And I'm still to this day shocked that the American team was handled with such respect, since I'm so used to mangaka basically spitting on Americans every chance they get.

64. Ironically enough, when I was big into the fandom, Heero/Relena bored me to tears. Now, if I ever wonder around fic sites for it, it's the only pairing I actively seek out. It makes no sense to me, either.

What con was that, out of curiosity?

I-Con, which is based on Long Island, New York. It's mostly sci-fi/fantasy, so the anime guests are admittedly treated second-rate compared to others, especially if those others ever were in a show with the phrase "Star-Trek" in the title somewhere.

Even with the smaller anime fanbase, his mob follows him everywhere each year. All he wanted last year was Denise Crosby's autograph and a handful of peanut M&M's. I swear, it was like I was giving a starving man bread or something, with how grateful he was. He's always acted totally polite and sweet to not only staff, but to his fans.

When they stole his cds last year, I nearly choked. He was completely upset about it, but never once acted angry at the other panels he had to go to afterwards. So, I have to admit this whole internet thing of how much of a bastard he is always has me befuddled, because I have never once seen him act in such a way, even when provoked to like last spring.

8. I agree. I hung around him a little at AFW and he was really nice and cool. He signed autographs for people when it wasn't time to sign them, answered our questions in the lobby, and even took time to give us all hugs. His fans really scare me too.

You've obviously worked a very different con than the ones I've worked with him. He's miserable to be around, and I pulled out of AWA the moment I was told he was coming. Never again.

You keep posting this to me, and I'm sorry to say I really don't believe it, since you're being all anon about it. No offense, but I don't really buy "faceless" comments regarding issues like this.

I have met the man at least six times, three of which when I was working, and he has never been anything but polite. His fans were always another story.

Also, Nekocon? I'm sorry, wankiest con I've ever attended to begin with.

You do realize this is specifically an anonymous comm, right?

I'm not the OP and I have no idea who the dude is, but asking someone to unanon in a Secrets comm is seriously douchetastic.

Maybe you missed the memo, but the anon in question is spam posting a thread he/she has placed on this comm about the subject, stating that what he/she's saying is fact, and expecting me and others to believe it when he/she/ won't even show his/her face. Anon comm or not, I think I have the right to say, "Sorry, I find it hard to believe you when you don't have the guts to tell me who you are." Especially when the case involved is an anonymous person posting rather dubious things about someone.

Ditto

I don't have the highest opinion of Vic, but that thread is pretty over the top.
