8. Ok, I'm sorry, but I have to say something about this because I keep seeing these Vic-hate secrets.

I don't know what experiences these fans you say Vic has been rude to have had with him but I can definitely say he has been nothing but polite and sweet to me.

I first heard Vic's voice in that videogame, Unlimited SaGa. I immediately loved it but I had no idea who the voice actor was. Later the FMA dub came out and I loved Ed's voice too, so I looked up the voice actor and, behold, it was the same guy as the character in Unlimited SaGa. I found out Vic had an AIM sn and an email you could write to him at but I was way too shy to even attempt to contact him. My friend took a chance and IMed him to tell him about how I'd been trying to gather the courage to contact him to tell him how much I liked his work. Do you know what Vic did? HE emailed ME to thank me for my support. I wrote back with what I had always intended to say and he replied in the nicest way ever.

I later met him in person at a con and he was super nice to me, took his time talking to me, and gave me the biggest hug ever. One of my friends met him at a different con in a different state and reported an even nicer experience where he took the time to speak to her at length about music (she's a music performance major).

Now, I have no idea what has happened since then that has made people dislike him so much, but I at least wanted to share my experience so you can maybe understand why some of us DO like him so much. For me, it's sort of the inverse in that I can't understand why some people seem to hate him.

P.S: Before you write me off as some creepy rabid fan, please know that I'm really not. It's been years since I've watched one of his shows (actually, FMA is the only one) and I'm not even part of the Rizembool Rangers.

I've found that many people don't like him because he's a Christian and "that's okay, but does he have to be so open about it?"

I keep hearing things like that too, and about the whole he-doesn't-like-yaoi thing. Granted, I have no clue what he did or said or what the circumstances surrounding these events were, but if it's just that he said that he doesn't think Ed and Roy are in love with each other or something, then I don't understand. He's entitled to his opinion too, and fans themselves are just as opinionated about shipping and whatnot.

And, as for the Christian thing, they don't HAVE to listen to him... They can just head for the food court or something, I don't know. Because of this whole situation, I did click on a video someone posted in a secret post a while back of one of his "sermons" and I didn't really see anything offensive about it.

I wish someone would explain exactly what happened.

For the record, he emails back everyone who tries to contact him. He'll always reply at least once.

Hardly. But then, almost every Vic thread on this post is full of delicious anecdotal evidence, so meh. Not worth it.

Read some of the comments on the first page. He's an asshole, and he's been BANNED from conventions. How's that for being so fucking "nice"?
