Godddddd, I still have to catch up with that show. I've seen none of season five despite having plenty of time too. :(

I think a part of me is scared to catch up because I know this is the final season and I'm scared of how it's going to end. (Between Duke and Nathan, too. I'm tired of seeing them not get enough screen-time together or being on opposite sides.) This doesn't usually stop me from completing things, but...

Wish I could discuss it with you, anon. When I eventually catch up, I'd be glad to. (If you're still interested.)

Which character does everyone have a hate-on for? Is it a new character or perhaps an existing one that took a 'turn'? Please tell me it isn't Duke... (Though I think it would more likely be Nathan, which hurts just as much, lol.)

Yeah, it's Nathan. Everything he does, every time he makes a mistake because he is human or doesn't have access to all the information we do, it's because he's stupid and evil and selfish. The most recent thing this particular pocket of fandom is doing is complaining about an incident that happened offscreen at the very end of the most recent episode after much hype. Nathan, the sole witness, is so very obviously not telling everything about what happened and all will be revealed later, which is the oldest damn trope in the book, but people are leaping to take him at his word because it proves that he is a horrible person somehow.

I've always mostly ignored Haven fandom because the hate-on some people have for Nathan is ridiculous. Like you said, he can't make a mistake without people jumping all over him. (Pretty sure the fandom doesn't automatically hate the other characters for making mistakes? Or at least that was the impression I got from my brief glimpse of it.)

I get not being happy with a characters decisions or the turns of events (even though in this case you are probably right and that Nathan will come out of whatever it is looking just fine), but sometimes people jump reaaaally fast to conclusions when there's obviously more to come.

Nathan is like, the poster child for 'a good guy'. He is not evil, lol.

(I also noticed that some of fandom has a very Duke vs. Nathan approach to the show, so that isn't fun. Guys, despite their protests even they like each other. They have some rough patches, but come on!)

You know, I'll admit that Nathan is my least favorite of the three, but by a razor-thin margin. Like, if I love Duke and Audrey to death, I love Nathan to irreparable maiming and blood loss. But he is a decent if not always wise human being, and he by no means has a monopoly on going off half-cocked based on incomplete information.

Awww, poor Nathan. (Though I can still tell you love him by how you write him!)

Nathan seems to be most people's least favorite, so of course he's my actual fav. This doesn't happen that often so I suppose it serves me right, lol.
