Agreed. I started watching "Criminal Minds" when it was in the middle of season 8, and went back and caught up on all the earlier seasons. And I still very much enjoy that show and still watch each new season.

I'm often late to the party with a lot of TV shows, for various reasons, so I'm well used to playing catch up and it doesn't bother me. I just see it as, "Ooh, yay, new stuff to discover and become a fan of!"

I think Criminal Minds and Castle are the only two shows I actually started watching from the beginning that I'm still into. CM was a given for me because I was really obsessed with profiling back in the day. I had all the books written by various profilers.

I got into "Criminal Minds" through a friend. She loved the show, and I saw some of it when I'd be over at her place, and became hooked as a result :D. Some of my interest is for the very same reasons you have. True crime and studying behavior and stuff like that is of some interest to me. And I liked the non-judgmental way the show addressed a lot of issues (prostitution, mental illness, victims of rape, etc.), and treated people who struggled with that stuff with compassion and understanding.

The other big reason was that I just really liked the characters. Once you've got me liking the characters on a show I am sold, pretty much :D.

I don't know that there really are much in the way of shows I've watched from the very start. I think maybe "Community" and "How to Get Away with Murder" would be on that very small list.
