It's not the worst movie. It's about as sappy as you'd expect. You will learn to hate the word cottage. Drink heavily. Everyone should see this movie before they die. Go with God, dear Anon.

Wow…you weren't kidding about sappy:

"Returning home from college one Christmas, young artist Thomas Kinkade (Jared Padalecki) is dismayed to learn that attempts to promote local tourism have failed and his mother (Marcia Gay Harden) is dangerously close to losing the family cottage to foreclosure. Inspired by his mentor, Glen (Peter O'Toole), a famous artist who lives next door, Thom accepts a job painting a mural of his small, idyllic hometown. With Glen's help, Thom not only discovers his calling as the Painter of Light(tm) but also helps the town rediscover the true spirit of Christmas in this nostalgic, humorous and heartwarming true story destined to become a holiday classic."

Jesus

"Painter of Light" -- LOL

He stole that from J M W Turner (who was a much better painter, BTW).

This really sounds like a movie that could only possibly be enjoyable with booze.

I actually watched this in the early days of SPN (I guess about season 3 or 4?) because I was smitten with Padalecki at the time and thought he looks really cute in the trailer. Didn't give a shit about the actual story, just wanted to watch Jared in sweaters and scarves.

It was good for that, though not much else.

"destined to become a holiday classic"

LOL that's what tey all say.

Also, the only time learning the true meaning of Christmas was entertaining was when it happened to Skeletor.
