The hate, I think, arises from Moffat making a classic mistake: he introduces something awesome that the fans love, and then he FAILS TO LEAVE IT ALONE. So the Weeping Angels, easily, the coolest new monsters for a generation, degenerated into self-parody with unbecoming speed. And River Song, the enigmatic, brilliant woman whose death was a mysterious capstone to a story yet untold, turned into (more or less) Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way.
