Co-signed. Obviously prectability can be too much, but it's the plot twists that come out of absolutely nowhere that people don't realize can be just as annoying. I run into way too much of the smug "that was obvious" attitude with mystery readers in particular and I wonder if they've ever written anything when a lot of them don't seem to consider how it's a difficult balance between underestimating what the readers will observe and sort of cheating by making the murderer someone really random just so that it's impossible to guess. It's like they'd actually prefer the latter, which can only work in truly exceptional ways or as straight-up humor.
