I absolutely love surrealists and symbolists. I like a lot of expressionists too. Remedios Varo, Rene Magritte, Zdzislaw Beksinski, Odilon Redon, Jan Toroop, Leonora Carrington, Marc Chagall, Paul Delvaux, Evard Munch, Franz Marc, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Dorothea Tanning, I'll stop now.

I love, love Caravaggio. Seeing a couple of his paintings in this beautiful church in Malta was the closet thing to a religious experience I've ever had. I like Gustav Klimt. Edvard Munch is pretty cool too.

Damien Hirst can go fuck himself in the most uncomfortable way possible.

There's an artist I hate on Tumblr only because she's a two-faced bitch, but I won't put her name here just because I don't want her getting any more attention.

I'm actually not a huge fan of art for the most part. I don't tend to go to museums. For some reason, though, Van Gogh really speaks to me. I love his art. Something about it draws me in in a way no other artist ever has.

I like him too. He's got an interesting color sense and I love the energy in his brush strokes.

Yes, the colors and the energy and the emotion that I can somehow get out of his paintings in a way I don't get from other artists. He's amazing.

I have many faves. Today's fave can be William stout. He does awesome paleo and fantasy art. Sometimes he helps with movie designs.

Bill Watterson. His use of whitespace is masterful, and I love how he uses scenery to underscore the story.

I don't really hate any. If I don't like their stuff, I just go my own way.

Seconding the Damien Hirst hate. There's a difference between slyly mocking self-indulgent art criticism and just validating it.

Cate (Kate?) Beaton. I cannot STAND that kinda sorta but not really knows how to draw people kind of cartoony artwork and I will never understand why it's so fucking popular.
