That may be how your friendship works, but OP doesn't owe it to anyone to force themselves to follow something, especially if they've been hounded about it.

I passionately love Danny Phantom, but I don't expect my friends to pick it up and follow it just so I can talk to them about it.

That's why I said "you might want to consider" and not "you're a fucking monster if you don't do this OP."

And honestly, anybody who wants to have long, deep, healthy friendships in their adulthood would definitely do well to at least consider stuff like this. It doesn't mean you're a bad person if you don't do it, or that your friendships are doomed to fail. If that's what I meant, that's what I would have said. But the ability to recognize when something means a lot to our friends, and to gives them a little of our time so they can share that thing with is, tends to go a long way in friendships.

Still, telling the OP they might want to consider giving this particular (infamously loong) series a chances after they've already explained that they've tried reading ti in different forms and aren't interested just seems unnecessary
