My insurance is HMO which means I need a primary care referral to see any specialist. My primary care only refers patients to two podiatrists. I did ask if he could make an exception and find someone else for me, but I haven't heard back yet.

That's ridiculous. :/ I guess the only other option would be to find another primary care physician that might refer you? Though that's just as much work...

God, that's awful. They should make an exception; it's cruel to leave you without any viable options.
