Again, a small one, sad rather than angry. But the person I've beta-read for years and years now, and she's beta-read for me, has suddenly started talking about what her "first readers" think of the novel she's written. I helped her with the first umpteen chapters of that, gave her admittedly honest feedback which is what she always says she wants, and which she acted on. Then - no offer to send the completed thing for me to read even as third, fourth or fifth reader. I've asked her why in as low-key a way as possible, made it clear there'd be no repercussions. No reply. We used to be such good mates, too. :(
