Re: How many chances do you give a new series?
(Anonymous) 2015-10-16 09:20 am (UTC)(link)If it's just kinda bad, I'll give it two episodes.
If it's just mediocre/boring I might give it three or four episodes.
If a show has a great reputation and a lot of critical acclaim I might give it four or five episodes no matter how bad it is.
Movie:I'll watch just about any movie through to the end, if I'm seeing it for the first time. But I'm pretty picky about what movies I watch. I don't voluntarily watch movies I suspect are going to bug me.
Book:I almost always finish a book once I've started it. I'm a completist. Plus, I tend to read the kind of "challenging" or "classic" or "highbrow" literature that isn't always super enjoyable in the first place.
Fanfic:For the first two or three years I'm in a fandom I finish almost every fanfic I start (presuming it doesn't turn out to be something completely different from what it says on the tin). But after three years or so I tend to start getting bored more easily and not finishing things.
