Its SO weird to me how Whedon haters supposedly hate the guy and his fandom yet find a way to work him in to every fandom conversation ever.

So do I. I like her one-liners, but I wish the show would give her more things to do besides deliver them (and fight).

Pearl has issues with being "just a pearl," and Amethyst has issues with being the product of a kindergarten, but Garnet has zero issues with being a fusion. I think she'll get more interesting when more of her backstory is revealed and she gets her own neurosis to latch onto.

she's the most mysterious of the three and i feel like the show could have shown us a little bit more about her background (or ruby and sapphire's backgrounds.) garnet got really hung up on that one game in the arcade to the point where she couldn't stop following its directions so i'm wondering if either ruby or sapphire (or both) are used to following some kind of orders like a robot.

I find her fascinating, especially in her interactions with Steven.

I just can't reconcile with the fusion thing.

Not Iggy but it's CREEPY to me okay? The idea of two people fusing into one consciousness is creepy in my opinion. You dont have agree but oh my god the idea that you can be absorbed and become someone completely different by being so subsumed by someone else is just...ugh. No thank you.

Kind of agree with anon above, but also it's impossible for me to wrap my mind around Garnet as her own individual character now. And no matter how many 'the fusions are their own person' things are pointed out, I still can't see Garnet but anything but Ruby and Sapphire mushed together now.

Oh god thank you. Someone fucking said it. It's just so creepy. The loss of personal autonomy is just...terrifying to me.
