Yeah, honestly, I found Fitz to be one of the least likable protagonists in fantasy. The only reason I struggled through the first trilogy was because they're the favourite books of all time of one of my closest friends.

That said, he gets better as the series progress. He's much more tolerable in the second trilogy, and downright sympathetic in the third.
