I really liked Fitz. Considering all the shit he endured as an orphaned little kid, and thinking his foster father had murdered his bonded pack mate, I didn't think he grew up so poorly. He wasn't treated very kindly. Ever. But he still had a good heart despite. I don't think he recognized Molly's agency very well, but then she communicated exactly jack and shit to him back, so they were both guilty. The Fool treated Fitz like a tool. So did a lot of others. I thought Hobb did a good job of showing how very little a bastard's life was worth if Fitz didn't stay under the old king's thumb. Fitz didn't have a lot of agency of his own and did his best to move under the weight of those constraints.
