Re: Snowpiercer
(Anonymous) 2015-10-18 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)I really wish we'd gotten to see even more cars. I loved those too. I actually thought there should've been more to sustain the population (I just assume we didn't actually see all the cars with meat/plants and the animals where the meat must've come from). I guess in the comic, the train was 1001 cars long, which makes it seem more like a good chunk of humanity than the few hundred people they crammed on the train we saw.
I sort of agree about the ending. I was thinking, though, that if they follow the polar bear to its hunting grounds (a predator must mean there is prey, which means some kinds of plants for them) they would find a food source. But I'm not sure how equipped the kids would be. Were there any other survivors at all? Would Yona understand how to strip the train for useable parts?
It just seemed silly for the dad to want to free them when the world was melting and if he waited a couple more years, it would've melted more and been more hospitable. He wasn't in the tail-section, so it shouldn't have been so horrible for him. And he should've picked somewhere near the equator to make sure he was in the best place to start over.
I did love Chris in this. Despite what he did, he turned out more likable than I'd heard he was going to. I really liked that he was able to redeem himself and save the kid - that he had a chance to give his arm like Gilliam did.
But, NGL, my favorite character was Grey (the mute guy with the tattoos).

(Anonymous) 2015-10-18 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)However, in the comics, there was a second train. They did sort of combine the comics so I'm not sure if there's any hope of a second train in the movie but they could definitely do something with that. I could see them lying about a second train for whatever reason, always on the other side of the world.
