I don't get it, either. I got a DW account back when LJ started going south, but none of my friends were using it so it was like going to a hot new club only to find that people were still hanging outside the old, shitty club but not going inside and not moving elsewhere. Aaaaand then all of a sudden when people DID decide to go somewhere else, they went to tumblr or left fandom altogether. WTF, fandom...

I think with DW it was more that everyone kept going to the new club at different times, never found each other, and by the time one person heard about the great new club everyone else had given up...
