[Die Hard/Die Hard 4]

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I like 4 too but it was also the first one I saw. I've only seen parts of 2 (I think) and 5 was terrible. But 4 was adorable. I really like Matt/John fics.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? Is Die Hard 4 known for being slashy?

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Die Hard (Movies) has 500ish fics and of those, 440 of the fics are Matt/John from Die Hard 4.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That's so weird.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
That is weird. I've never even thought of any of those movies in slashy terms.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-19 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
But Hans Gruber/John McClane tho.

OH MY GOD, I USED TO SHIP THIS.

I even wrote a fic, lmao.

Morty's expression seems very appropriate for this comment :D

Haha! I didn't even notice. xD;;;

In order of movie love for me:

1
3
4
2
5

One will always be my favourite because a) it's the "best" to me, and b) Alan Rickman is a wonderful villain. I don't even remember five, and considering how 'meh' two is to me, that's why it's so low on my scale.

There's certainly absolutely no other possible reason to prefer 4 over the original. Or consider them even in the same ballpark.

Hmm . . . I've never considered this before, but is Sergeant Powell from the first movie slashable?

(Anonymous) 2015-10-22 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
I've never considered it, I don't know that it would appeal to me, but you could probably get some good h/c fic out John/Powell with the events of the movie and John's influence restoring Powell's faith in his ability as a cop.

That might actually be pretty sweet and heartwarming, if done well.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Bald Bruce Willis would be my reason, but ok. lol

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE the fourth one. It's over-the-top but has some nice quiet moments as well, the batshit action scenes are well done, and McClane and Matt play off each other well (although I read them as more father/son mentor/student than slashy)

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Originally, the script was about John and his son. It was later rewritten but you definitely wouldn't be wrong in seeing them as such.

Proof that slashers will slash any two sufficiently pretty boys regardless of the canon relationship.

Bruce Willis is attractive. Justin Long is very attractive. To me. But those two characters a couple do not make.

I'm sure I thought so at first too. Then I started reading the fic. Damn, that shit is gooood. And that's when I discovered I had an age difference kink :P

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, this just reminded me again of my weird situation where I can't figure out if I think Bruce Willis is super hot or if I think he looks like my dad.
