they don't usually use "ugly" in those situations. in fact they're more likely to say something like "boring white guys" or (derisively) "pretty white guys"

That's not ugly!anon. That's fact stating anon. How else can you explain the Sherlock fandom? Basically if there's two white guys with slash potential, fangirls will fawn over them. It's called Cumberbatch's law
