Batman

I want to read/learn about Batman and his relationship with some of the Robins. Specifically Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Jason seems to be the easiest because Under The Red Hood exists. And for someone who is intimated by comics, that seems like an easy place to start.

Any other recs? I can try comics as long as it is like 200 different ones with like 4 different versions.

I have just a jimmy/superman to offer, but I felt bad for your lonely comment. Anyways:
The Three Indisputable Proofs of the Existence of God and Other Obscure Cultural Phenomena of the Late 20th Century
being a Jimmy/Superman slash story by Minotaur

For Jason, you probably want to read Batman: A Death in the Family. It comes before Under the Red Hood iirc, and gives the end of his story. It's collected in a nice little volume, so that's convenient for reading.

Sorry - I got introduced to some of the "basics of Batman" by friends, but it was many years ago and I no longer remember all the comics they gave me. But Death in the Family is definite.

I need to catch up with it but a good Bruce and Dick series is Batman '66. It's done in the style of the '60s television show so it's deliciously cheesy at times [Although, they did have a recent issue that gave a very notable nod to the Knightfall story arc involving Bane - although, the outcome this time, it wasn't as bad as the abovementioned story.]

Wow.

All I can say is be prepared for multiple different interpretations in canon.

There was a period in the 1980's when they were rewriting Jason Todd's backstory, and they would actually publish letters from fans saying, "Really? You think that story even made sense?" It's kind of hilarious.

I was more of a Tim Drake fan, I guess. But then, he was rewritten twice after that. :(

For Dick's relationship with Bruce, maybe look at the stories where Dick wears the Batman costume?
