Not dyeing your hair a colour you want because you're so paranoid people will go "ahh yes one of those". Worried you're so ugly you'll do a fictional character a "disservice"? Thinking you're not good enough as you are? Smells like insecurity to me, OP.

OP never stated she finds herself ugly, only that she aspires to be as beautiful as the character she loves. Just because she wants to become prettier it doesn't mean she is wallowing in insecurity right now.

And what's wrong with not wanting to project an image associated with a certain subculture? So it's totally okay to dye your hair purple to look like a fictional character, but the moment you want to lose weight to not look like someone else you are suddenly insecure to the core?
