The scene where he's shown what remains of his body is terrific. Rest of the movie is good dumb asplodey fun, but that part, goddamn.

This secret format bothers me. It reads to me as:

I enjoyed this more I don't care if it social commentary. It movie. than the original. Doesn't have the is a better live action

I read that as "Don't open, dead inside"

if there's something dividing the words down the middle, my brain splits them into columns.

I preferred it too :P Social commentary in the originals just went right over my head, so pretty popcorn flick for me!

There was a social commentary in Robocop?

(No, seriously. I don't remember there being a social commentary since I saw it a long time ago)

It spent a lot of time making fun of greed and corporate corruption. There was also some technological stuff--not necessarily anti-technology, but against machines that could act without human oversight. SF Debris did a great review recently: http://sfdebris.com/videos/films/robocop.php (Though I wish he'd gotten the bit where a hostage-taker demands a new car with "reclining leather seats and really shitty gas mileage.")

Oooh yeah, I do remember the whole Evil Corporation stuff! lol They where really prevalent in 80's/early 90's movies, iirc. I remember them in Terminator too with the whole Skynet shticks. Good times, good times.

Gonna watch the videos later when it's not 2am and I have to wake up early to work.

I like both versions, but I like the RoboCop suit better in the remake. And obviously the special effects are better. The scene where he sees what's left of his body? AMAZING.

psh. the original spared us the obvious cgi 2007 video game graphics and it had the stone cold acting of peter weller and kurtwood smith. plus, ED-209 legitimately frightened me as a child when it came around the corner and kicked our boy's ass.

the new movie sucked. hey lets dig around in this guy's brain for no long term effect. again. and again

also, robocop cries now
