Amazon Prime

(Anonymous) 2015-10-20 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently with the new Amazon Prime, you can only share it with one other adult that you MUST share your credit card with. Making it useless to share. I used to buy it and share it with my sister and mother but can't do that anymore.

What the fuck?

Is it that big a deal?

I just buy stuff for other people, ship it to their houses, and then they pay me back.

...yes. That is so complicated compared to, "Three adults buy their own shit, get it shipped to their house, and I never have to know about it."

The price of that convenience is giving out your credit card information. Which would you prefer?

The old way. Where you just add 2-3 people who can ONLY use the shipping benefits but don't have to share CC info.

I'm confused, you don't trust your mother or sister with your credit card info ?

Some peoples' families will happily take liberties with your stuff. Not sure if this is OP's case, or they're just paranoid.

of course, but if you have that sort of relationship I 'm not sure why you'd be sharing the account in the first place

Not all families are happy.

and OP is probably wise to do so. It's usually family that will steal from you. RIL right now my family is dealing with finding out my aunt has been stealing hundreds of dollars every month from my grandmother for who knows how long.

the why are they sharing the account now?

Does this just apply to shipping things, or watching the streaming service? Like, if you give me your email and password, can I still watch video at my house, or is that not doable now either?
