I really want a Captain America beanie/winter cap (and maybe gloves).

I go to FYE and Hot Topic. Online is a little more expensive, but there's a pretty popular site called....ThinkGeek I think?

Newbury Comics has good stuff I find. ThinkGeek is also good.

I've seen MCU stuff at both Target and JCPenny's (bought a Cap shirt from Target, actually!), but not a ton and not anything like you describe. (Mostly shirts, sweaters, that sort of thing. And sadly as far as JCP's goes most the Marvel stuff seems to be kids or men's. Maybe I've just been unlucky, though.)

You would probably have better luck online, as others have suggested. (Thinkgeek is indeed very good, if a bit expensive at times.)

Maybe Suncoast? I used to shop there years ago and they always had lots of merchandise.

2nd & Charles

Some anime video stores, or video game stores.

Ebay or Etsy as others have mentioned.

I googled 'captain america beanie' and got a ton of hits - all kinds of styles. I guess just look for the one you like best?
