I still think smoking can look pretty cool - on fictional characters or people I'm not in the general vicinity of. I hate it when people smoke around me, though.

I think competence is a really attractive feature as well.

Oh man, smoking. I find it so hot and cool to look at, but then there's all the disadvantages that definitely weigh out the coolness out of.

Smoke gives me burning red eyes (I turn into Sauron ha!) but I think the smell of cold smoke is even worse. This sour and stale scent... ugh.

I find (the look of) smoking so hot (seems like Mads Mikkelsen smokes in half of his pictures, and hot damn it looks good on him but I hate saying that) and I feel a bit ashamed of it. I have no problem with people who smoke, but I think it smells rank and don't care to be around it. (That and I know plenty of people who have complications because of smoking, so I'm always a bit worried when someone I like does it.)

Yeah, a lot of people who were friends with my parents died of lung cancer or other smoking-related things in the last three to four years, it's really sad.

Some smokers also have those nicotine-yellow fingers and smell really vile of stale, cold smoke, that's pretty disgusting as well.

But when people or characters smoke in visual media? Damn.
