52. I dunno. I really like the series, but I think my original enthusiasm dwindled down considerably over the years. I did read it all, and enjoyed it, but I do think it is slightly overrated, or at least Johann is. Not sure why, but I have a weird feeling that it could have been better. It always confuses me when I see people who love this series vehemently and put down everyone who doesn't.

Not sure why, but I have a weird feeling that it could have been better.

I love the series and I do think it's by far one of the better manga I've read, but something about the ending struck me as off. I have no idea what it was, except that I agree it could have been better.

I think my interest had alrady gone down when I reached the ending, so I am not surprised that it did not impress me. It's hard to say why, especially now that it has been a few years and I have actually forgotten so much about the story, it's shameful.

52. I really like it too, but I wish people would read at least one volume before judging. If Monster's just not your thing, then fine. I'm okay with that. But saying that the first handful of pages are boring makes me want to fling something at the person.

I know... I don't really remember where exactly Monster's first chapter ended, but I do seem to recall that it took a few chapters more until the story had established itself properly.

But that's just the way people are. They judge quickly, because there is so much to read and they don't want to waste their time. If the first chapter does not convince them, chances are they won't read the second. If they get bored after the first chapter of monster, I don't think it's their kind of story anyway, and to each their own.

Hey, as long as they don't start badmouthing the series constantly, based on what little they've read, just ignore them.
