OP is glad she's not alone.

Honestly, I was totally on board with hating her guts until 3-5. I just... I feel really bad for anyone who has a crappy childhood. Dahlia's parents didn't love her, and she was separated from Iris -- even if she did actually orchestrate that, as she tells you, I get the feeling it was emotionally devastating. It doesn't excuse what she did at all; she caused a lot of pain, and she deserved to be brought to justice. But I still feel bad.

Also, if done wrong, hanging can be a terrible way to die. And actually, the end of 3-5 where Mia shuts her down really hit a bad chord for me. If you think about it, her soul's drifting out there, angry and alone and probably hurting. She doesn't get a chance for closure, and it seems like a miserable existence to me.

And I never really felt for Godot the way I think you were supposed to. He was a jerk to Phoenix for no apparent reason -- and in the end, it was a pretty crappy reason anyway. But the big thing is that he got a good woman killed just because he wanted to look like a hero. There is no reason all of 3-5 couldn't have been prevented if he'd just explained the situation. Even if he didn't tell Phoenix, he could have told Maya, and she could have handled it.

There are plenty of reasons to feel bad for Godot, and there are plenty of reasons to hate Dahlia. It just didn't work out that way for me, and it's a little annoying to watch the majority of fandom go "poor Godot" and "kill Dahlia with fire!" without seeing the grey in there.

Um, sorry. Had a lot to get off my chest, and ^that probably wouldn't fit on a secret ^_^;;

But seriously, I felt the exact way. Exactly. Especially on this:

YES. And I understand that I'm probably alone on this, but I found that part to be unnecessarily cruel. Dahlia may have been a sociopath, but at least she let her victims rest in peace.

It was cruel, and it was uncomfortable because the game intended for us to feel thrilled that the Big Bad got taken down. Dahlia had no right to do what she did. She needed to be stopped. But it just seemed to underscore the idea that even in death, no one was ever on her side.
