What? Of course it does! It's "otanjoobi omedetoo gozaimasu". They have words for all that other stuff as well (several for each, actually), but they also have loanwords from English, that give them slightly different connotations.

And loanwords aren't engrish.

Oh shite, I fail quite hard today. Of course you're right. I was thinking of the birthday *song*, for which there is no equivalent.

I know all about the loanword fiasco. I know it's not engrish. I know they have (less commonly used, at least among people I know) alternatives. But me and katakana loanwords will just never be reconciled. We just weren't meant to be ;_;

Tell me about it. I find them even more mysterious than kanji. And we still do the same in Swedish! Only, we don't just have a lot of English loanwords, but French and German as well...
