Eh I guess what I liked about it was that to me, it gave off a feeling like while Ed and Al were cool, there felt like there was a lot going on , more than them.

The world was bigger than the main characters and they had a solidified PLACE in the story without the story coming across as revolving around them. If that makes sense. It followed other plot lines and just felt like everyone fit like cogs in a machine.

That's true. I guess my dislike is more based on the fact that I just find the world unpleasant. The Harry Potter world, for example, gives off warmth and welcome to me. The FMA world is one I dislike and I would never want to be in.

That's fair enough. Some stories/worlds can rub a person the wrong way.
