It almost always is in the books OP is talking about, though. It was a trend in that era-- the virginal white heroine who was so much more beautiful and desirable because of her uniqueness + the noble savage hero who is partly tamed by his lust for her, etc. etc. Then there's usually a sprinkle of good old-fashioned Mary Sueishness when the white heroine manages to out native the natives in like, a month.

This. She's also usually kidnapped, and the tribe creams themselves over her for her lily white skin and golden hair. If she's not immediately forced to become the wife of someone, she might alternatively be perceived as a goddess of some sort. Or both. Kinky sex ritual optional. She'll likely ultimately become Disney's Pocahontas and stop her old white boyfriend from killing all the savages, and not want to be saved.
