That you thought were better than the first movie?

Shrek 2.

Mind, the 3rd and 4th movies are not good.

Shrek 2? It's good, but I'm not sure I'd say it is better than the original.

I loved the 4th one, honestly. I liked all of them except the third.

Agreed. Shrek 2 is my favorite Shrek, and I rewatched it many more times than I did the first. I think I managed to repress 3 and 4, though.

Aww, the 4th was good. Just a bit...forgettable. Certainly better than 3 and way.

I just liked Fiona in that film. But yes, Shrek 2 was good, though I put it on equal grounds with the first.

Empire Strikes Back would be the obvious choice. Return of the Jedi is actually my favorite Star Wars movie, though.

Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country, and First Contact I think are all better than the Motion Picture and are the best of the Trek movies.

Goblet of Fire and all the movies after that except HBP were better than PS, I think.

I actually like Phantom Menace better. ROTS is the best of the prequels, but AOTC was way too much about the romance stuff that were my least favorite parts of the trilogy. I actually enjoyed the political stuff of TPM.

I wouldn't say Two Towers is better. It is my least favorite of the three in part because it strays the most from the books. ROTK is my favorite, but Fellowship is a close second.

Yes to Hunger Games and Spiderman 2 and Empire.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is 100x better than the first one.

I agree with this, although I do love the first one too. But Cap 2 is my favorite Marvel movie and is very nearly a perfect movie.

I really should give it a try. The first one bored me to tears, I could hardly stay awake. It had cute moments I guess but it was just so damn dull imo. But all the praise the second one gets, I'm curious if I'll like it more.

I agree. All the questions I had after watching the first one were finally answered!

Disagree. The sequel definitely improved upon the pacing issues of the first film, but the dialogue and characters of the original were so much stronger than the second.

I actually have a really hard time thinking of any. Most of the time it's either too different to really compare (Terminator vs Terminator 2, Alien vs Aliens) or the sequel just plain isn't as good (most everything else, though it's a matter of degrees.)

Actually, no, someone mentioned Hellboy 2 and that's exactly it. The first one was an adaptation of the comics but it made some weird changes and not everything fit and the pacing was off. By the 2nd movie the cast had settled into the roles and the plot and settings and overall vibe were great.

Oh I forgot Hellboy 2 but yes, I love that movie(and I am sad that we probably wont ever get the third one :().

X-Men 2.
Cap 2(I'm someone who actually really likes the first Cap movie but I do think TWS did such a good job incorporating him into the modern world).
Aliens.

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of atm.

Oh the LoTR sequels as well, they got better as they went along.

Mad max fury road :P I'm repeatedly blown away by it.

I preferred the lion king 2.
