It was the most ridiculous movie I have seen this year, I loved it.

Like sure it wasn't some cinematic masterpiece but I didn't go in expecting that and frankly it wasn't worse than JP2 or JP3 imo(it wasn't as good as the first JP I will totally agree with that but it was a passable sequel to me, though honestly considering what happened in JP I do wonder how they even got the in-universe funding to get JW up and running...).

But I loved how the park looked and I liked the enclosures for the dinosaurs, and I so wish I could visit the petting zoo irl, like I would never leave that place.

I didn't mind the human characters either, the two kids I honestly didn't care that much about. I didn't mind Owen, he wasn't anything amazing for me but as far as action-movie dudes go he was alright. I loved Claire though, some of the writing surrounding her was a bit iffy but idk man I just really fell in love with her during the movie.

The weaponised raptor idea was completely stupid but only the one guy was actually taking it seriously, everyone else was acting like he was nuts so I could forgive the silliness of it.

Also the dino-fights were cool and the last fight was like something out of a video game, I was grinning like an idiot in the cinema(like I said, the most ridiculous movie I've seen this year, but it was fun).

I happened to like the other sequels (though I admit I like JP3 mostly for the Alan/Billy ship). This was certainly up there. I guess I'm in a minority in that I would never think to put it up against the original in terms of quality. JP was lightening in a bottle, directed by one of the best directors ever and coming at just the right time in special effects. I think anyone who wants a new movie to be at that level is going to be disappointed so why would you even do that? But you do hear it all the time.

For funding, I think the consequences of JP2 would be the one that stopped funding. I'm not sure how many people really understood what happened in JP but the dino attacking San Fran was really visible. I too wonder how they finally managed it but I can believe human nature and greed would make it work. Certainly, we've seen the board pushing it in the later movies.

I think the only thing that bothered me was the assistant's death. It was so drawn out and while her character was only a sketch, I knew her enough that I didn't want to see a death like that. It felt icky to watch, like someone was getting off on it.

Oh I love JP2 ad JP3 as well don't get me wrong! They're still fun movies and frankly they're different from JP as well, but hey dinosaurs, so I'm there. (Haha, well we think alike nonnie as the Alan/Billy ship is a big reason I like JP3 too).

Ha, yeah you make a good point. InGen are known to full of shit-heads so them pushing for the opening of JW is not a stretch, and not any dumber than wanting trained raptors.

Oh yeah her death was... something else tbh. Like it almost felt like she was being punished for something? What with how drawn out it was, sadly I knew it was coming from the trailers but I still didn't like watching it.
