That's the first piece my favorite teacher ever assigned me to perform. I know nothing about the play but I have loved that monologue forever.

I highly recommend reading it! Or seeing it, if there's ever a production near you. I don't know how much you know about it, but it involves some modern characters (Valentine is one of them) and some characters from the Regency era who lived in the same setting. And all this math and poetry and stuff. So good.

I was such a dork in high school, reading all these plays (okay, and space operas) when everyone else was reading YAs. The last line of the monologue was my quote under my senior yearbook picture. DORK.
