Yeah, I don't understand all the massive extravagance that comes with weddings, either. If and when I ever get married, I want to keep it simple and just have closest family and friends there.

I also often feel the more obsessed someone becomes with having the "perfect" wedding, the more that tells me the relationship probably isn't going to last very long. When you care more about having the exact right dresses than you do the fact you're getting married to the person you love, that's a red flag, I'd say.
