(Anonymous) 2015-10-23 06:57 am (UTC)(link)I've also heard the "people who are attracted to men are attracted to masculinity, people who are attracted to women are attracted to femininity" thing pretty often, usually to explain why someone shouldn't NOT be attracted to a trans men if they like men/trans women if they like women.... it doesn't work that way for me. I'm attracted to men, but not masculinity, or as little of it as possible anyway. Not to say that I couldn't be attracted to a trans man, if he had the right type of personality, but I'd worry that the being attracted to "feminine" qualities in that case would be pretty offensive and not something they would appreciate. :/

Anyway, in my experience, some trans people are okay with cis people being attracted to them in a different way / making exceptions wrt sexuality. Some are not, and it depends also on whether it's more respectful or fetishy.
