Huh? I don't know where you go, but mani/pedis are MUCH more expensive than a movie, even with concessions, and I think the percentage of people who do them without actively wanting their nails to be painted and look "nice" at the end has got to be minuscule. It's true that the experience can be fun - people will get them to be social together. But the experience ultimately comes down to getting your nails decorated, it's not just a massage, or you'd go to a massage therapist (for cheaper, most likely).

What massage place are you going that it is cheaper than a mani or pedi? Massages run at least 60 dollars usually. Mani and pedi together in my experience are no more than 50.

ayrt

I wasn't thinking full body massage, but rather a foot massage. My massage place does foot massages for $20, cheaper than a pedi. But $50 for mani/pedi is ridiculously good, I paid $70 for my last one.

Might just be supply and demand, but a manicure or a pedicure runs around $25 here.
