Haven't you eve adopted some kind of fashion thing that was uncomfortable at first but soon you got used to it and didn't even notice it anymore? Because that's how pretty much everything is for me: nail polish, lipstick, a bra, turtlenecks, halter tops, wool sweaters, carrying a purse on my shoulder. It all feels weird and annoying at first, but your brain learns to filter that signal noise out pretty fast.

I've always hated skirts and dresses, but I know that if I ever actually bothered to wear them for a couple of weeks straight I'd get used to them.
