YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH

I just love him, okay? I read "Campaigning with Grant" in high school and fell in love with the man, and the rest is history.

Huh. He was hot when he was younger. I only know how he looked when he was president.

Ulysses S Grant was a fantastic, fantastic general and by all accounts a pretty decent man

Terrible politician and administrator, but who cares

My sentiments exactly! He was also a loving husband and father, and said cute things like (about his tone-deafness), "I know two tunes -- one is Yankee Doodle and the other isn't." He was a little bear of a man and I would have liked to give him lots of hugs. Also, cutie.. But I prefer him in his bearded, war-weary, heart-sick general era.

Somehow I didn't realize Robert Mitchum was no longer with us. :( *looks him up* Died in '97. Wait. He died before you were born? Somehow I didn't realize I got old. :(

Oops, no, I was born in 1978 -- I just didn't bother checking his death date. I was on a roll! :)
