Re: Can someone explain to me the deal with the Grass-Eater movement?

Japan does not handle social change well. Western culture went through the same collective freakout as this back in the 1990s with the new man movement. Only we did it a bit less so because back then we were all too high on peace and relief after the end of the Cold War, and were also experiencing the Clinton economic boom, to freak out as much as Japan is.

All true, but this is not good change. This isn't something that should be supported, this is backwards and a little misogynistic. Men who choose to avoid forming any attachments to women like this is just another arm of social oppression to women. I don't like how you seem to be taking the side that the grass eaters are the good guys and it's just old farts who are too unprogressive to let change happen. Some change shouldn't be allowed, some change is bad.

Racist!Anon, hi. :)

I am lol-ing out loud by "men who aren't interested in having girlfriends are actually oppressing women", btw

You know what it makes me think of? It makes me think of a couple claims I've seen that gay men are misogynist because they don't want to fuck women.

I mean, you can be misogynist a lot of ways, but who you're attracted (which you cannot really control) to isn't one of them.

It reminds me of that whole "Refusing to have sex with a woman is rape because it violates her right to consent" bullshit that was doing the rounds last year.
