Re: LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER TYPES

this cracked me up. I actually kinda like deaton (probably because I shipped him with peter way back in season 1), but that's still very accurate

I really wanted to like Deaton, but I couldn't. I feel like I could count the number of times he's been legitimately useful on one hand. He pretty much stays in his clinic petting animals and gives Scott and co “advice" that is so vague or so unhelpful that he shouldn't even bother. Sometimes he doesn't even attempt to appear useful, he's just like “You have to do this yourself, good luck!" Then he stays out of it while people die and teenagers put themselves at risk. He probably sits around with his feet on his desk sipping cheap wine while the kids get their asses kicked. (And/or killed.)

It's just so baffling that they made this character that is supposed to be intelligent and wise and he doesn't really do anything and almost never has anything helpful to add. It's so funny that I can't TRULY hate him because after a certain point it does becomes a joke. “How useless is Deaton going to be today? Did he break his personal record?"
