There were just too many backstories in the Dressrosa arc, especially about characters who weren't that important to the plot in the first place. I actually forgot that we got to see Baby 5's, tbh. Though I have to say that I liked Senor's flashback; he was just a comic relief villain in the beginning, but finding out why he wore those baby outfits was heartbreaking. :(

I wish we could have seen more of Law and Corazon's adventures. Corazon was a great character, I love him too.

What's great about Brook's backstory is that it really shows that Oda had planned all these things through from the beginning. And I'm so happy for Laboon that the poor thing will at least meet one of his nakama again.

If you don't mind me asking, what are your current feelings toward the manga?

Corazon's back story was feels-laden as hell, too; Senor Pink's actually made him relatively sympathetic as a villain, and so did Baby 5's which is pretty unusual for the Donquixote crew; DQ himself was an asshole from day 1 and Trebol and crew only magnified that even more :|

Unfortunately not that good. The manga as a whole is becoming really repetitive for me, tragic backstories can become really boring reharshed a thousand times, and the plot just become similar after some time, the jokes stop being funny from before the timeskip. I think Alabasta was done much better than Dressrosa, I didn't care that much at the end of the arc. I think Oda really need to deviate from the formula.

The biggest thing, though I know it has been talked about a thousand time, is how the female characters are written. I'm tired of being told how strong Robin is while seeing her doing nothing but getting hurt or shielding people. Rebecca could have been good, she could have been a badass pacifist and yet at the end she was just a prob for her father.

I was a really big fan of OP, I practically grew up with it. Now I'm just dissapointed with it and had stopped reading. Doesn't mean it's bad though, some part is great like Law and Corazon. Now that Dressrosa is over maybe I'll pick it up again.
