(BTW, that "dinosaur bones are a trick by the devil" nonsense is a belief held by some sects of Christianity, not religion as a whole. Christianity is not interchangeable with all religion.)

That's cute, but you're not telling me anything I don't already know. I was speaking in general terms, picking the dinosaur bones thing as an example.

To be honest, I find it difficult to take you seriously when it comes to religion. In the past, every time I've seen you participate in a thread discussing religion, you seemed more interested in bashing Christianity than having an intelligent discussion, even though I know you're more than capable of making insightful comments on other, unrelated topics. Your conflation of Christianity with all religion in the above comment suggested to me that if I tried to seriously engage with you any further, it would be more of the same.

I have to agree with ayrt that "stuff religion rejects" is an obnoxious phrase. Just because the type of thing you were thinking of is true of multiple religions doesn't mean you weren't implying things about religion in general that aren't true. There's very little that can be said about all religion that's true across the board.

I picked that as a specific, extreme example of the kind of beliefs that religion fosters, to illustrate a point that religious views have no place in serious scientific discussion. I did not say that all religions or sects believe dinosaur bones are a trick by the devil because I am not a moron.
