This. But also I'd add that your ship being canon does not make it superior and lording it over fanon shippers is equally obnoxious.

Oh totally. But that simply doesn't happen in any of my fandoms, like, ever. Mainly because no one has any time to be aware that there are canon pairings because they are all too busy screaming at each other about how THEIR personally preferred non-canon slash ship is the ONE REAL CANON SHIP and anyone who disagrees or ships something else is STUPID and BLIND and IN DENIAL and PROBABLY HOMOPHOBIC.
