I redid one today to a jpeg, because I was feeling nice, but we will make a special section down in the not posted secrets in the future for bitmaps. We're trying to make the page as easy to load for everyone as we can. Thanks!

*Shrugs* Plenty of people loathe football, so I don't know why you'd feel the need to keep it a secret.

I hated football like crazy and looked down on people who liked it--until I went to college, started dating a football player and realized what a stuck-up douche I was being. I got dragged to game after game until I started seeing its worth and how much fun it can be.

Athletes are definitely overpaid, though. As are actors, directors...

Still, it's problematic for me anytime someone uses the "I don't like this so anyone who does is stoopid" argument.

I still don't understand watching sport though. Playing it, yeah. Watching other people play it, naw. I think I'm just kind of self-centered though. I want to be the one being watched ;D

Eh, actors give up the entirety of their personal (and social) life if they don't play their cards correctly, not to mention they have no assurance of regular income once the project is over. The overpaying is basically a way of giving those one-hit wonders enough time to pad their downtime before they realize it's time to get a 'real' job. ;)

Well, football players don't exactly have a long time before they're out of work either. Ignoring Brett Favre and other longstanding players, careers in major sports can be brutal and short.

There's a controversy going on right now about football veterans who now have HORRIBLE problems since retiring. (lots of mental disorders, and physical problems too. I can't remember the specifics right now but I read about it in SI.)

They can't get disability payments out of the NFL, even though they incurred these disabilities playing. It's a bad scene.

tl;dr version: NFL players are overpaid, but like actors, its sort of a one time thing for most.

...sorry, it's just, when I got into football, I got REALLY into football >>;;

Haha, well, being a severely underpaid voice actor, I could speak on an actor's behalf. However, football being entirely outside my area of knowledge, I couldn't speak on that without looking like an ass. XD

I wouldn't doubt that football players have their own share of problems, though. Being in the public eye really fucks with your social life, I wouldn't doubt.

Voice acting? Wow, so cool! I'm sorry you're underpaid :( And sorry about the lecture, the whole situation with the players has been on my mind too much lately ^^;
