CDisplay isn't an ebook reader. CBR and CBZ files are literally just RAR and ZIP files with all the necessary pages in them as separate jpeg or png image files.

Calibre is probably your best bet for the books.

Thanks, do you use CDisplay? Or would calibre also handle cbr and cbz files?

I use CDisplay, no EX, but I'm old-school and something about EX bugs me. But definitely use it constantly. I don't think calibre can read CBZ/CBR, as they're different kinds of files for different kinds of media. Most comics are in CB* format or occasionally PDF if the scanner is an asshole.

Ugh, PDF comics. I use pirated Adobe Acrobat to extract all the images, then zip it.

Conversely, downloading an ebook only to find it's a bunch of images in a folder, is also annoying, and I use Acrobat to PDF and OCR that.

I'm so glad PDF is rare in comic scans these days.
