Not just old movies. It's still a huge issue in movies for the leading man to be old enough to be the leading woman's father or grandfather. It's fine IMO if their age is part of the plot but it shouldn't be default to a huge age gap for any love interest. Too many wonderful actresses are getting shit parts or just not working because they aren't 30 anymore. Sorry this is one of my pet peeves.
