Re: FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE 2015 MLB SEASON

I'm obviously F!S's resident Angels fan. And we did pretty well, considering everything. I predicted we'd be a wild card team, and we missed it by one game. Except I was forecasting a Nationals-Mariners WS, L-O-fucking-L!

Gif of the year!
Catch of the year! The way Victor Rojas' voice cracks at "I didn't think he had a shot at that ball!" just kills me.
•Trout hits a grand slam that's caught in a fan's "Trout Net". That's something out of a fucking movie. What. Unfortunately, he had hurt his wrist earlier in that game, so that was one of his last homers for quite a while... :\
•Game 161: Comeback of the year. Straight-up 2002 style.

•One of the biggest surprises was Johnny Giavotella, who became our primary 2nd baseman after the big Howie Kendrick trade. Well he wasn't as good as Howie (especially defensively), but he was damn serviceable. Always had a huge smile on his face while playing. And he always seemed to get the biggest hit right when we needed it most, as seen above where he drove in the go-ahead run in that insane game 161. Poor Johnny G missed about a month with fourth nerve palsy, a rare vision condition that must have been really scary! Dude looked so happy to be back.

•Hector Santiago had a great first half and was an All-Star for the first time in his career. Didn't get into the ASG, but it's still an honor. He didn't fare as well in the second half, but he was still reliable. Some highlights.

•Our best rookie was Andrew Heaney, the pitching prospect we got in return for Howie Kendrick. And while Howie was absolutely a fan-favorite, it was a great deal. 1 year of a 31-year-old 2B or 6+ years of a 24-year-old left-handed starting pitcher? Heaney seems to be the real deal, despite the stupid mustache. Highlights. Expect the Angels to soon have a fearsome lefty core to their rotation, with Heaney, Tyler Skaggs returning from TJS, and Sean Newcomb, the top prospect in the organization.

•Small shout-out to rookie reliever Trevor Gott, who we got from the Padres in the Huston Street package. Dude's 5'11"-- short for a pitcher-- but he's making it work and solidified the 7th inning role for the second half. One of our hardest throwers, and has a nice curveball. He's a nice return for RJ Alvarez, who went to the Padres (now with the A's), who had a similarly firm fb but terrible command. Here's a nice play by Gott.

And finally, LET'S GO METS!!
