There are f/f options in ME. In the first ME, there weren't m/m options though.

Either way, who cares. Play the game how you want. The character isn't a real person whose sexuality is being erased. And a lack of same sex options is hardly your fault.

I think OP is referring specifically to ME2, where the only f/f options aren't "real"/main romances,
with all of them having very little content, one of them consisting solely of mutual feelings that never come to fruition, and another resulting in a very bad ending if you choose to participate in it. They would have to mod their game if they wanted Femshep to have an official romance (complete with achievement) with a female character in ME2.
