They got a notification that you unfollowed them? Maybe they have third party software. Stupid to follow you though, unless they're spammy or salty. You can block them so they can't follow you, can't you?

I don't mind them following me if they want to. I don't dislike them, they just post about a lot of risky shit and it was giving me a damn ulcer.
