Who are they?

Raistlin and Crysania, from the Dragonlance novels. (I had to google who she was, I didn't read the prequel Time of the Twins stuff)

Well, that's a new one. I know lots of people who liked to imagine they were either Raistlin or Crysania, but not that they were their parents.

I don't think they'd be very good parents, TBH. Either of them.

op

probably not, but my actual family was fairly screwed up as well so to be fair it's not like they would necessarily have fucked me up mentally any worse than my real family did

idk who the lady is but i'm pretty sure that's Raistlin Majere

and i don't know WHY you would want him to be your father.
he would be a terrible parent.

op

my family was fucked up and I couldn't enjoy fantasies about having a "normal" imaginary family because normal/happy felt fake and stupid to me, but I could definitely enjoy fantasies about having a fucked-up fantasy family where I already knew the "rules" of how to manage things, rather than every day being an unpleasant surprise. Also in my fantasies I always ended up being a super awesome wizard who totally got over her messed up childhood and built a super great life for herself, which wasn't necessarily a thing I expected to happen irl.

Oh man, I used to do too. Or mostly Raistlin being my dad. Idk why but I had a strong tendency to imagine various characters as my family members (Jarlaxle from my Forgotten Realms as my dad was one of the ones that lasted the longest; also Data from Star Trek:TNG as my brother). Sometimes I imagined characters as friends, only once a lover, but those family fantasies really stuck with me.

I remember talking about it with a friend who thought it a bit weird. I guess it's not as common as imagining fictional characters as lovers or friends even.

But in any case, no harm with little family fantasies, even if the characters wouldn't be the best set of parents.

I never read the books, but I always loved that cover art. Beautiful.
